Ford expects 90,000 units of lost production during changeover to new F-150
Ford is bracing for reduced revenue while introducing 23 new models globally.
Ford expects to lose about 90,000 units of F-150 production as it retools factories for the new aluminium-bodied truck, reports Bloomberg. Ford's president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, said the resulting reduction in inventory would lower the company’s sales, market share, and profit in the pick-up truck market, one of the industry highest-profit-margin segments. Ford has been building up supply of the current generation of the F-150 to minimise the impact of the new model − and expects to maintain the title of best-selling vehicle in the United States.
