Philippine government nurses goal of becoming an EV manufacturing hub.

US-based Pangea Motors is planning to set up a manufacturing facility in the Philippines for local production of electric vehicles (EVs), reports Manila Bulletin. To this end, the company has signed an agreement with local transport group Pasang Masda to locally produce as well as supply imported EVs, which are initially believed to be aimed at replacing the Philiippines' public utility jeepneys (PUJs). The agreement was signed at the office of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, where the top chiefs from both the countries are believed to have met to discuss trade opportunities between the two countries.
