BMW investigating small number of cars as a result of Takata airbag recall
BMW's investigation follows related recalls this month by Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mazda.
BMW, requested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), is examining a limited number of its cars in Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands to determine any potential malfunctioning of airbags supplied by Japan's Takata, reports Reuters. A BMW spokesperson said yesterday (23 June) that Takata airbags had been installed in BMW vehicles of the E46 3-Series generation built between June 2000 and August 2006.
