Expected to produce pick-up trucks and sport utility vehicles at the new factory

Beiqi Foton yesterday (26 June) held a foundation-stone laying ceremony for its new factory in Foshan in south China's Guangdong province, reports the state-owned Xinhua news agency. The new factory, reportedly a low-emission, non-polluting intelligent plant, covers an area of about 62.3 hectares. The new factory will reportedly have an annual output capacity of 240,000 units in 2015, when it is due to go into operation. Beiqi Foton is expected to produce pick-up trucks and sport utility vehicles at the new factory, with the vehicles being exported to more than 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and America.
