Volkswagen looking for new suppliers in Poland for new Crafter plant
VW is working hard to ensure the new Crafter features as much component localisation as possible.
Volkswagen (VW) is engaging and tendering for suppliers that will service the new plant the firm is building to manufacture the next generation of the Crafter light commercial vehicle (LCV) van in Poznan, Poland. According to an Esmerk Eastern European News report, VW is working hard to ensure the new Crafter features as much component localisation as possible in order to reduce costs and it will also tap into existing supplier networks that service VW's existing LCV plant in Poznan. VW is also looking to keep transportation and logistics costs as low as possible and the higher the imported component content, the higher these will be.
