Honda recalls more than 175,000 vehicles in Japan over engine control defect

Latest recall is the fourth for the two hybrid models that were launched in 2013

Honda is recalling 175,356 vehicles in Japan due to a software flaw in their engine control units, reports Reuters. The recall includes the Fit and Vezel hybrid models. The defect could lead to unintended acceleration, Honda said in a statement, adding that it has received 11 reports of accidents related to the defect from December 2013 to April 2014, with no injuries or deaths.
