Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has revealed details of key engine and comfort technologies that it currently has in development, and which are eventually expected to be introduced to its next generation vehicles. In the near term, the company is planning to introduce its new Ingenium turbocharged gasoline (petrol) and diesel engine family. According to the automaker, it is intended to deliver "class-leading levels of torque, horsepower, and refinement while reducing emissions and fuel consumption" on a modular platform that features low-friction and lightweight technologies. In order to achieve this, it has invested GBP40 million (USD68.5 million) to expand and enhance its Powertrain Engineering facility at its Whitley Technical Centre (United Kingdom).
