Record revenue drives Tenneco's Q2 profit increase of 29%
Company points to stronger production volumes and operational performance.
Tenneco has reported net income of USD81 million for the second quarter of 2014, up 29% compared with the second quarter of 2013; quarterly revenue was up slightly compared with the second quarter of last year, at USD2.2 billion from USD2.1 billion. The company pointed to an improved effective tax rate as well as stronger production volumes and operational performance for its increased profit on marginal revenue growth. The company's clean-air division saw sales increase 10%, while sales in the ride-performance division were up 6%. The company also posted a 27% increase in commercial truck and off-highway OE revenue and a 4% rise in global aftermarket revenue.
