Daimler to invest EUR1.5 billion in Sindelfingen site

IHS Automotive forecasts that Sindelfingen will see its output increase by 350,000 units this year to 390,000 units by 2017

Daimler plans to invest EUR1.5 billion (USD2.01 billion) in the Mercedes-Benz passenger car brand plant at Sindelfingen in southern Germany, according to a company press release. The investment will be centred on modernising the plant in order to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability to ensure the competiveness of one of the company's largest production sites.
