Mitsubishi to maintain annual domestic output at 600,000 units
Will continue to consider expanding its overseas facilities if needed.
Mitsubishi plans to keep its annual vehicle output in Japan at 600,000 units, reports Jiji Press, citing the automaker's president, Tetsuro Aikawa. "We hope to continue producing 600,000 vehicles a year in Japan by operating our plants at full throttle and at the same time will make efforts to improve productivity," said Aikawa, adding that Mitsubishi would continue to consider expanding its overseas facilities if needed. Aikawa also said that Mitsubishi aimed to sell around 200,000 vehicles in Japan in fiscal year (FY) 2020/21, up about 40% from FY 2013/14.
