Local assembly of Hyundai cars begins in Nigeria
Car-assembly in Nigeria picking up after the government implemented the National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP),
Nigeria's Stallion Group said yesterday (11 August) it has started assembly of Hyundai's range of vehicles at a plant in Lagos, reports All Africa. According to a statement issued by Stallion chairman Sunil Vaswani, some of the Hyundai passenger cars being assembled, which are priced at 1.5−1.9 million Nigerian nairas (USD9,000-11,500), are the i10, Grand, Accent, Elantra, and iX35. Meanwhile, in the truck and bus segments, the 10-ton HD160, 7-ton HD120, 5-ton HD78, and 3-ton HD65, as well as 28+1 seater Hyundai County bus and 30-seater Stallion County bus, are now being supplied to the market by Stallion.
