Daimler is to recall 50,000 of its Smart ForTwo models in China, reports Reuters. The decision has been made at the request of the country's General Administration of Quality, Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. The recall is related to the engine V belt, which drive the engine cooling fan and alternator, and which can tear on certain models due to vibrations. The recall is set to begin on 22 August.
