Third generation of safety cameras on the way

TRW is developing the third generation of safety cameras for vehicles together with its partner Mobileye. Speaking at a technology day organised for customers and journalists at the Hockenheimring, TRW’s senior product planning manager, Andrew Whydell, outlined some of the advances in the pipeline.“We are expanding the capability and the library of objects that our cameras can recognise,” said Whydell. “It’s not just cars and people who use our streets. Safety systems need to recognise other road users such as cyclists and warn the driver appropriately.”
