IHS forecasts light vehicle production in Iran to reach 1.08 million units by 2015.

Indonesia has announced plans to help Iran set up an assembly line of Toyota cars in the Aras Free Zone in the northwest of the country, reports Iran's Fars News Agency. "Negotiations with the head of the Indonesian plant of Toyota Company have been held and he has agreed with launching an assembly line of Toyota cars in the Aras Free Zone," the Indonesian ambassador to Tehran, Dian Wirengjurit, said. "Pointing to production of 1.5 million cars in Iran," he added, “this is a valuable time to import raw materials and tyres to Iran with no third party involved."
