ZF restarts talks with Bosch to end JV in order to hasten TRW buy-out
ZF looking to sell its 50% stake in its JV with Bosch in order to avoid competition objections and antitrust issues resulting from potential TRW merger
ZF is to restart talks with Bosch over disbanding its steering systems joint venture (JV) so the former can clear outstanding antitrust issues, according to a Bloomberg report. Because TRW already has a large share of the steering systems market, ZF is looking to sell its 50% stake in its JV with Bosch in order to avoid competition objections and antitrust issues in Europe and the US, according to sources familiar with negotiations between the two companies. According to the report, talks have restarted after a break over the summer, with ZF looking to sell its stake to Bosch.
