Turkish vehicle production rises 21% y/y in August
Automakers operating in Turkey are rolling out new models and expanding capacity
Turkish vehicle production rose 21% year on year (y/y) to 57,278 units during August, according to data released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors' Association (ODD). Passenger car output during the month stood at 37,330 units, up 24% y/y, while commercial vehicle (CV) output surged 16% y/y to 19,948 units. For the January-August period, total vehicle production stood at 719,501 units, down 1% y/y. This was split between passenger car production of 459,372 units (up 15% y/y) and CV output of 260,129 units (down 21% y/y).
