ArcelorMittal launches new lightweight steel pickup frame
Aims to compete against increasing trend of aluminium usage in vehicles
Luxembourg-based automotive steel supplier ArcelorMittal yesterday (17 September) unveiled a new truck frame that can cut the weight of a pickup chassis by about 23% or 384 pounds, as the company looks to compete against a trend of increased use of aluminium as an alternative material for lower-weight vehicles.
