Skoda to invest EUR450 million in Czech production

Will lift production volumes at the plant from 150,000 to 231,000 units by 2017.

The Volkswagen (VW) Group's Czech-based unit Skoda is to invest EUR450 million (USD577.2 million) in its Czech production facilities, according to a Reuters report. The investment was reported by Czech news agency CTK following on from comments by Skoda board member Michael Oeljeklaus who said the investment would be made in the firm's Kvasiny plant, the second largest of the firm's three plants in the Czech Republic.
