BMW recalls 130,000 vehicles in China
The recalls relate to fuel leak problems, in which the AQSIQ states that the fuel pumps are flawed and may cause leaks.
A total of 134,180 BMW vehicles in China are to be recalled, the Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine (AQSIQ) has stated, as reported by state media Xinhua. The recall will include 68,090 imported BMW vehicles, including the BMW 5 and 6 Series, and X5 and X6 models produced between March 2007 and June 2011. The recall also includes locally-produced BMW models. A total of 66,090 BMW 5 Series models produced by BMW Brilliance Automotive between March 2010 and October 2011 are also being recalled. The recalls relate to fuel leak problems, in which the AQSIQ states that the fuel pumps are flawed and may cause leaks. BMW and its joint-venture partner will replace the faulty fuel pumps for free.
