Honda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki to recall 290,000 vehicles in Japan
Recalls are further expected to dampen the slow-moving automotive market of Japan
Honda, Mitsubishi, and Suzuki have announced to recall little over 290,000 vehicles in Japan. According to a Jiji Press report, Honda will recall a total of 138,377 units of five minicar models, including the N-BOX. As a result of a defective engine control computer, the vehicles may stall. Mitsubishi will recall 120,021 units of its four minivehicles on account of defective air conditioners that can cause the antifog function to disable. Included among the recalled vehicles is the popular Mini Cab. Some of the recalled vehicles include units supplied to Nissan under a sourcing agreement. Suzuki will recall a total of 32,091 units of four small trucks, including the Carry, due to defective airbags. According to the transport ministry, affected vehicles suffer from a broken sensor that can disable the airbag function. Suzuki supplies some models to Nissan and Mazda under agreement, which may be subject to recall.
