The Guangzhou Auto Co (GAC) joint venture with Zhejiang Gonow Holdings plans to build a further production base in Taizhou in China's Zhejiang province, reports local news source SinoCast. The base will be completed in two phases, with phase 1 having a planned production capacity of 150,000 pick-ups, sport utility vehicles (SUVs), and components, with phase 2 ramping this up to 300,000 units per annum (upa). The GAC Gonow Automobile Co will invest CNY5 billion (USD810 million) in the new plant, the report states.
