Automotive Industry Development Plan has begun to have an impact.

Twenty-three companies have signed commitments with technical partners to assemble cars, minibuses, pick-ups, buses, and trucks in Nigeria under the country's new Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP), reports weekly South African publication Engineering News, citing Nigerian Automotive Council director-general Aminu Jamal. Nigeria implemented its NAIDP at the end of 2013 in an effort to build up its domestic automotive industry.
