Nissan opens new CNY5 billion Dalian plant

Nissan and its joint-venture (JV) partner Dongfeng have begun production at a new plant in Liaoning Province, where both Nissan and Infiniti vehicles will be produced

Nissan and Chinese JV partner Dongfeng opened on 18 October 2014 a new, 1.32-million-square-metre, CNY5-billion (USD816.5 million) production base for passenger vehicles (PVs) in Dalian city in China's northern Liaoning Province, Nissan said in a statement sent directly to IHS Automotive. The plant is being developed in two phases, with phase 1 expecting an annual production capacity of 150,000 units and investment of CNY5 billion; phase 2 will see annual production rising to 300,000 units per annum (upa).
