Honda recalls Brio, Amaze, CR-V in India over faulty airbags
Affected units, potentially affected by incorrect assembly of the baffle plate in the inflator.
Honda has announced a recall of its popular Brio, Amaze, and CR-V models to replace faulty airbag inflators in India. In a statement, the automaker said it will recall 1,040 units of the Brio hatchback, 1,235 units of the Amaze compact sedan, and 63 units of the CR-V sport utility vehicle (SUV). Affected units, potentially affected by incorrect assembly of the baffle plate in the inflator, were produced between September 2011 and July 2014. No accident or death has been linked to these defects in India, said the automaker. As a result of incorrect assembly of the baffle plate, the pressure within the inflator may rise excessively when the driver side airbag deploys in an accident or other situation, causing damage to the container.
