Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced that it has opened its new engine manufacturing facility in Wolverhampton (United Kingdom). The site, known as the Engine Manufacturing Centre, will be home to the automaker's new downsized Ingenium four-cylinder diesel and gasoline (petrol) engine family. The first diesel engines will begin being built in early 2015 and will be first used in the Jaguar XE. It is also said to feature the largest rooftop solar panel installation in the UK, comprising 21,000 panels and estimated to generate more than 30% of the plant's energy requirements.
