Focus on using ionic liquids, alternative anodes as potential components for batteries

Researchers from the BMW Group have optimised an ionic liquid electrolyte for lithium-air (Li-air) batteries, resulting in a stable electrode-electrolyte interface and a highly reversible charge-discharge cycling behavior in a test lithium-air coin cell, reports Green Car Congress.
