VW starts construction of new Qingdao plant, opens components plant in Tianjin

VW has announced details of its new CNY11-billion (USD1.8-billion) production plant in Qingdao and CNY2.2-billion transmission plant in Tianjin.

German automaker VW has announced two major projects in China: a new plant manufacturing base in the eastern coastal region of Qingdao in China's Shandong Province, and a new components plant in Tianjin along the northeastern coast. In addition, a new production plant in Tianjin is expected to be announced in the near future.
