Honda Canada to invest USD750 mil. in Ontario plants
The plant will launch the next-generation Civic and be responsible for developing the manufacturing processes and tooling trials that all global Civic plants will follow.
Honda Canada Manufacturing has announced investment in its Canadian manufacturing footprint of CAD857 million (USD750 million) over three years. The investment, which affects all three Canadian plants (two assembly plants and one engine plant), will provide new technologies and processes. The Alliston, Ontario, plant will become Honda's global lead plant for the Civic. The government of Ontario has agreed to provide 10% of the total investment in the form of a conditional grant. According to a company statement, the plant will launch the next-generation Civic and be responsible for developing the manufacturing processes and tooling trials that all global Civic plants will follow.
