Australia's ANCAP to adopt Euro NCAP protocols in full from 2018
Models sold in Europe and Australia will only need to be tested in Europe
The Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) plans to essentially align its testing criteria with sister organisation Euro NCAP starting 2018, according to a press release issued on its website. ANCAP has released a three-year "Rating Road Map", which will come into effect from January 2015, when both Euro NCAP and ANCAP standards will be observed by the local safety body on testing new vehicles. Models sold in Europe and Australia during the next three years will only need to be tested in Europe, as the same safety rating will be applied in both markets.
