Chaowei Power and German battery-maker Moll to make auto batteries
MOLL to double capacity at the company's sole battery production base in Bad Staffelstein, Germany and establish a joint venture in China.
German automotive battery-maker Akkumulatorenfabrik MOLL GmbH + Co. KG has announced a strategic partnership with Chinese company Chaowei Group for the production of automotive batteries, the German company said in a press release. Over the next three years, several million euros are to be invested in doubling capacity at the company's sole battery production base in Bad Staffelstein (Germany). Meanwhile, in China, Moll and Chaowei are to establish a joint venture (JV) to deliver its products to German automaker Volkswagen's (VW) Chinese operations.
