UK passenger car production contracts 6.7% y/y during October
Passenger car production down only 0.3% year to date while commercials now down 23.5%.
Vehicle production in the UK has fallen again during October, according to the latest data published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). From a passenger car perspective, production has slid by 6.7% year on year (y/y) to 150,060 units, further eroding the overall year to date (YTD) which now stands at 1,282,077 units, a decline of 0.3% y/y. Commercial vehicle production in the UK has also fallen by 8.9% y/y to 7,939 units, which has further affected its performance during the YTD, which has fallen to 23.5% y/y to 57,981 units.
