Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi widen recalls over airbag issue
Honda will recall about 400,000 more vehicles globally.
Honda, Nissan, and Mitsubishi have widened their global recalls as a preventive measure over defective Takata airbag inflators, reports Dow Jones. Honda will recall about 400,000 more vehicles globally as a preventive measure to replace potentially defective Takata airbags. Subject to the latest recall are about 177,000 vehicles in Japan, including the Fit, Civic hybrid, CR-V, Accord, and other models, mostly produced in 2003. The rest of the recalled Honda vehicles include about 22,000 units in the Americas excluding the United States, 100,000 in Europe, and 70,000 in Asia-Pacific according to the report. Moreover, Nissan has added 152,000 vehicles globally to its investigative recall, including the Presage multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), according to a Bloomberg report. Furthermore, Mitsubishi is recalling around 160,000 vehicles worldwide over the same concern. Separately, Nissan has announced it is recalling 250,000 cars, including its March model in Japan, over separate issues with their door mirrors, reports Reuters.
