Recall is due to problems with the steering column control module.

A total of 8,645 Jeep Grand Cherokee sport utility vehicles (SUVs) are being recalled in China following a statement from the Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine (AQSIQ). The recall is due to problems with the steering column control module, which may cause an electronic stability control (ESC) malfunction, Xinhua reports citing the AQSIQ. The models affected by the recall were built between October 2013 and April 2014. The recall will involve Chrysler redesigning the programme for the module in order to eliminate the problem, the report states.
