BYD plans to build two plants in Europe
One to be in the United Kingdom and the other in a country strategically close to Russia.
Chinese automaker BYD aims to build two manufacturing bases in Europe within a year, reports the China Daily. In an interview with the newspaper, Isbrand Ho, managing director of BYD Europe, said the locations of the two plants were more or less finalised, with one to be in the United Kingdom and the other in a country strategically close to Russia. "We have contacted our Russian partners and they have a great interest in our electric buses because the country is looking to dispose of its outdated public buses," Ho said, speaking from his office in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. "So, the other production base may be located in Poland."
