Investment worth INR1.5bn

Dunlop India Ltd. will invest INR1.5bn to refurbish its facilities in Ambattur and Sahagunj (India). The investment will be funded from internal accruals and a loan of INR350 crore from foreign banks. In October 2006, the Sahagunj unit reopened, five years after its closure.  It was the second attempt to start operations since the unit’s closure. The plant in Ambattur also reopened in September 2006, after operations were shut eight years ago.
