Ford announces production increases at German plants
Ford continues to suffer losses from its European operations despite pockets of success
Ford has announced it will increase production at its German production facilities in order to meet ongoing strong demand for key models such as the Fiesta and the newly revised Focus model. According to a Reuters report, Ford will increase production at its Cologne plant by 300 units a day starting from February to 1,850 units, which will equate to six extra shifts being added to the Cologne plant's output over the weekends during the first two months of 2015. Ford will also increase production of the Focus compact car, along with the C-Max and Grand C-Max minivans in Saarlouis, Germany, by 240 vehicles a day starting next week to 1,770 units.
