Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) discusses possible plant with Georgia governor in US
A US base would avoid import tariffs and reduce the effect of adverse currency translation effects.
Executives from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) have reportedly met with governor of Georgia (United States) Nathan Deal to discuss the possibility of opening a factory in the state, reports Bloomberg News. The news service cited an article published by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper that said that unnamed sources had told it that the meeting took place last month. Although spokeswoman for the governor, Merry Hunter Hipp, confirmed that Deal had "made prospect calls" while on an economic development trip to the United Kingdom, she declined to comment on whether a meeting took place with JLR "due to the sensitive nature of these ongoing business communications".
