Fiat Chrysler's (FCA) retooling of Canadian plant set to begin

The plant is being retooled to accommodate production of a replacement for the ageing Chrysler Town & Country due in 2016.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' (FCA) retooling of the Windsor assembly plant, Canada, is to include more than 860 new robots, 800 feet of flexible production lines, and retooling of 80% of its general assembly area, reports the Detroit News. The shutdown of the plant begins on 14 February and will include temporarily laying off more than 4,750 workers for 14 weeks.
