Russian passenger-car production falls 25.7% y/y in January
The recent decline of the domestic automotive market has led to temporary production stoppages and extended production holiday periods for practically every OEM operating in Russia.
Passenger-car production in Russian fell 25.7% year on year (y/y) to 85,100 million units in January, a similar rate of decline to that of passenger-car sales, according to data released by the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (RosStat). The statistics service also published figures showing that Russia's top vehicle manufacturer, AvtoVAZ, saw its output drop by around 20% y/y to about 20,000 units in the month.
