Canadian regulator, Transport Canada, has opened an investigation into the braking system of the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle (EV), particularly in relation to severe cold weather. The investigation covers the 2013 to 2015 model-year vehicles, according to The Detroit News. Nissan sold 1,084 of the EV in Canada in 2014. The report also indicates that at least seven complaints related to the braking issues have been filed in the United States with the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, although none of the US complaints were related to cold weather, the report says.
