GM-AvtoVAZ investment behind schedule
Construction of the upcoming production lines at Togliatti likely to be delayed by up to three months
General Motors' (GM) and AvtoVAZ's joint venture (JV) GM-AvtoVAZ is currently running behind schedule in its attempts to begin operations at its new plant in Togliatti (Russia) owing to continued sluggish economic conditions in the country, reports local news publication SKRIN Newswire. Citing unnamed sources familiar with the development, the report suggests that completion of construction of the upcoming production lines at the Togliatti plant is likely to be delayed by up to three months, although the sources noted that the target date for the launch of the latest-generation Chevrolet Niva, which will be produced at the new plant, remained unchanged at mid-2016.
