Ford India to inaugurate Sanand facility soon
Ford's manufacturing capacity in India will double to 240,000 vehicles and 270,000 engines per year.
Ford's Sanand plant in Gujarat is expected to be inaugurated towards the end of March, reports the Hindu Business Line. "The plant will be inaugurated by the chief minister of Gujarat on 26 March. We have invited her and the confirmation is awaited. The inauguration will take place in [the] presence of the US Ambassador to India, Richard Rahul Verma," the report quotes a Ford India official as saying. With the opening of the plant, Ford's manufacturing capacity in India will double to 240,000 vehicles and 270,000 engines per year.
