New Fiat 500 to go into production at Tychy, Poland plant in H2
Will keep production in Tychy stable when the current collaboration with Ford comes to an end next year.
Fiat Auto Poland (FAP) is gearing up to begin production of the new Fiat 500 and Lancia Ypsilon later this year, according to a Reuters report. The second generation of the 500 is a key model for Fiat and its Polish production facility and the launch of the new model will help maintain volumes at the plant at the same levels as during the collaboration with Ford to manufacture the 500-based Ka at the plant. A source told Reuters that the restyling of the 500 and the Lancia Ypsilon will keep production in Tychy stable when the collaboration with Ford comes to an end as is foreseen by March or May next year.
