Beijing Auto (BAIC) and internet company Leshi to jointly build NEVs
The two companies have already finalised sales targets and a timetable for the co-operation.
Chinese automaker Beijing Automotive (BAIC) and internet company Leshi Internet Information and Technology Corporation are to jointly build new energy vehicles (NEVs), reports the state-owned Xinhua news agency, citing BAIC chairman Xu Heyi. Xu stated that the two companies have agreed to develop NEVs and have already finalised company sales targets and a timetable for the co-operation arrangement. He did not reveal further details, however. Meanwhile, Xu said that the municipal government of Beijing has already introduced 500 pure electric vehicles (EVs) as taxis in Beijing and will increase this to 2,000 this year.
