Daimler to invest EUR1 bil. in Untertürkheim powertrain plant in 2015
Plant to become a centre of competence for highly efficient engines, hybrid powertrains and the production of fuel cell systems.
Daimler will invest EUR1 billion (USD1.06 billion) in its powertrain plant at Stuttgart-Untertürkheim in order to bring it up to date as a state of the art plant specialising in highly efficient conventional powertrains and future powertrain systems. According to a company statement, the plant's management and works council have agreed on a package of measures that will safeguard the location's competitive position and employment levels for years to come.
