Bangladesh's PHP to assemble Proton cars locally

Bangladeshi industrial conglomerate PHP Group has signed an agreement with Malaysia's Proton to assemble the latter's sedans locally. According to a report in the Daily Star, an agreement in this regard was signed on 12 March by Abdul Harith Abdullah, chief executive of Proton, and Mohammed Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury, director of PHP. Under the agreement, PHP will assemble nearly 1,200 sedans annually at its upcoming BDT-4-billion (USD50-million) facility in Chittagong.
