Nissan to recall 122,000 Note mini-MPVs in Japan and 22,000 overseas over unintended acceleration
Problem traced to a computer programming issue.
Nissan plans to recall as many as 122,850 units of the Note mini-multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in Japan starting today (20 March) because of the possibility of unintended acceleration. A Kyodo News report says that the automaker has informed the Transport Ministry that affected vehicles were produced between July 2012 and December 2013. There is a possibility that affected vehicles could accelerate just after the engine is started without the accelerator being pressed.
