PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia has begun operations at its new commercial vehicle (CV) plant in Indonesia, according to the Jakarta Post. The new plant in Kawasan Industri Surya Cipta, Karawang Timur, West Java, is expected to have a production capacity of 52,000 units per annum (upa), comprising 42,000 units of the Isuzu Elf light truck and 7,000 units of the Isuzu Giga mid-sized truck. Ary Mariano Sumampouw, production director at the automaker's local operations, revealed that the new plant would use 40% local content.
