Skoda workers threaten strike action
Action affects workers at all three of Skoda's Czech production sites
Skoda workers have threatened to go on strike after unions representing them rejected an offer of a 3% pay rise with the company's management. According to a Reuters report, the 3% offer was made in addition to a one-off bonus as unions and management attempted to agree a new collective bargaining agreement. The unions have not stated the actual increase they are seeking for their a Czech television station had demanded 6.5 percent but later dropped this to an undisclosed lower number. The company and union representatives have not commented on the current state of the pay negotiations of what pay increase the unions are looking for.
