Vietnamese automaker THACO in talks with Mazda over joint production of engine
THACO have begun fresh talks after failing in its attempt to build Euro II- and Euro III-compliant engines with South Korean automaker Hyundai
Vietnamese automaker Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO) is reportedly in talks with Mazda over the joint production of engines in Vietnam, reports the local Vietnam News Brief Service, citing unnamed sources from the department for economic zones management under the Ministry of Planning and Investment. According to the report, the two automakers are considering establishing a new engine factory in the Chu Lai industrial zone. The two companies are expected to manufacture Euro IV-compliant engines at the new plant.
